From 12th to 18th June 2023 is International Men's Health Week. It's an opportunity to highlight and support the health and well being of men and boys around the world, as well as celebrating the successes and contributions they make.
This isn't about just ditching Maccas and hitting the gym, although to be fair that's definitely part of it. An awareness of men's health includes a multitude of things from raising awareness about some of the struggles men face like parental alienation, suicide and homelessness as well as some of the obvious factors of physical health and wellbeing.
It's important to note that we often neglect some of the less obvious features to do with men's health like their mental and emotional well-being as we seem to focus on those those things we notice like obesity and general physical health.
During this time, make it your mission to make even the smallest changes to your lifestyle as well as checking in on mates, family and colleagues to see if they're ok. There's so much information out there for ideas into what you can do, and how you can help even if it's wearing the colour blue to show your support.
